FAQs

What is the EGG?

The Exploratory Grief Group is space for exploring and processing the emotional landscapes of grief together. The group meets weekly online and sessions last 90 minutes.

Do I have to be bereaved to join the EGG?

Absolutely not. We believe that grief can show up in life as a result of any kind of loss. You may be grieving the loss of a version of your self, an idea, a job, a marriage, an imagined future, or a person or place precious to you… You may not even know what you are grieving or why, or you may be curious to explore grief more generally in life.

What “stage” of grief is the right stage to join the EGG?

At the EGG we do not believe in a structure of predictable stages of grief but that everyone grieves in their own way, there are however shared experiences between and across all grievers. You do not need to be at any particular stage in processing your grief, but it is important that you feel ready to share, discuss and ask questions of your grief; to look at grief deeply and with curiosity. This may be scary to imagine, but you will know when you are ready.

What is the process to become a member?

After you get in touch we will schedule a free consultation call with either Rachael or Wanda lasting 20 mins, during which you can ascertain whether the group feels like a good fit for you. If you are not ready for the EGG, we can help to facilitate and recommend other forms of support.

How much does joining the EGG cost?

The cost of each session is $50/£40, membership is paid monthly. Members are free to leave the group at any time.

What language is the EGG held in?

At the current time, the EGG is held in English, we welcome and encourage non-native English speakers who feel comfortable speaking in English to join.

How many people are in a group?

The maximum group size for the EGG is set at 10 participants for each group session.

What should I expect from the EGG?

The EGG is an open, immersive and experiential space. You can expect to leave each session feeling different than when you arrived. The EGG offers an experience of being, feeling and thinking together in shared intersubjective space; think of grains of pollen in the wind, shifting sands, patterns of birds at dusk. You can expect the group to provoke shifts of perspective, emotional processing and the birth of new ideas and understandings.
